This past week in ISM I completed my first ever research interview. I was very nervous going into it as I had never done anything like it before, but as it went on I felt myself opening up and absorbing so much knowledge. During my interview, I learned of various programs such as the three plus three program and the three plus four program for physical therapy, as well as how the Baylor Scott & White Sports concussion program works. It was truly an eye-opening experience into the world of medicine. Moreover, this week I proposed my idea for my original work project. It was difficult for me to picture my final product and put into words the process I would need to follow as I am not totally sure of the logistics as of right now, however I will take it week by week to develop a fulfilling project. I know during this process many challenges will come my way, but I will be ready to take in everything and adapt as needed! Through this project, I hope to spread awareness on athletes’ mental health and neurological disorders as I feel it has not been brought to the light as much as it needs to be.
