New Year Goals

1/4/22

This past week in ISM was Christmas break. Over break, I communicated with my mentor about things like completing a background check so that I can start going on mentor visits. I am very excited for this coming semester as I now have a mentor who can guide me in my ISM journey. I am so looking forward to diving into my mentorship with Dr. Covert, and having her help me make my final product goals come to fruition. For this semester, I am not quite sure yet what I want to do for my final product, but I know I want to do some type of neurological experiment. I need to now really narrow in on what I want to do for my final product as it needs to be much bigger and more complex than my original work project. In terms of professional growth, I want to become a better public speaker. I feel like I can strengthen my professional speaking skills as I am now going to be going on many mentor visits and meeting my mentor's coworkers. Moreover this semester, I want to learn about more neurological diseases and different brain games to stimulate brain activity. I am also extremely excited for the Research Showcase, so that I can share the details of my original project with my peers.
